Third Crypto Venture Fund By Pantera Capital: $71 Million Raised

Pantera Capital, Blockchain investment company has launched their third crypto venture fund which has over $71 million already committed, as per company’s public records.

As per the filing submitted by the Pantera Capital to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday indicates that the investment scheme, called Venture Fund III, has raised $71.44 million from it’s first offering which had started from July 31 from 90 investors.

It remains unclear as to if Pantera is vying to raise more fund, although a few reports may suggest that it’s targeting close to $175 million in totality.

Prior to Venture Fund III, Pantera had raised $13 million for its Venture Fund II in 2016 and $25 million for its ICO Fund in 2017.

Pantera also announced through their blog that their Venture Fund III has made its first blockchain investment, investing in Bakkt – a cryptocurrency trading platform launched early this month by ICE, the parent company of the NYSE.

Pantera Capital has earlier recorded a staggering 10,000 percent return over the last five years from its involvments in various cryptocurrency projects. Pantera has invested in crypto projects such as Bitstamp, Korbit and Shapeshift, Circle and Ripple.
