Madonna, Queen of Pop, is now focussing on pushing boundaries with regards to philanthropy.
To mark her 60th birthday on 16th August, Madonna has partnering with Ripple in a month-long fundraising initiative aimed at assisting orphans in Malawi through Raising Malawi, Madonna’s Charity House, founded more than a decade ago.
The aforementioned fundraising which started from July 30th and would run till August 31st, Ripple has committed to match all the public donations.
At the time of writing US$28,783 had been raised via Madonna’s Facebook page.
In an official statement by Ripple, Malawi has close to one million children who have been orphaned after their parents died from HIV/AIDS-related complications.
As per Ripple’s senior vice president of business operations, Eric van Miltenburg,“We’re honored to be a part of Raising Malawi’s amazing work with some of the world’s most underserved children.”
Ripple To Save Wildlife
In May this year, as CCN reported, Kutcher partnered with Ripple to donate US$4 million in XRP to the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund, a nonprofit started by comedian and daytime talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, with a view of supporting global conservation efforts for species that are critically endangered.

Ripple also donated close to US$ 29 Million to DonorsChoose.org, non-profit to support public schools in USA. As the nonprofit noted, it’s the highest donation it has recieved yet in it’s two decades of existence.
