In a recent tweet by Vitalik Buterin, he posted a screenshot of a mail he received from Google, offering him a position to work on Google’s secret crypto project. He posted the screenshot along with a poll asking his followers whether he should accept or decline the offer.
Consequently, Vitalik failed to hide the recruiter’s credentials. Evidently, as per the limited view from the screenshot, it was a short mail, saying, “ I hope you are doing well and enjoying the weekend!” and continued “Google makes sense for you now or in the near future”.
The poll assimilated more than 2000 votes with more than 59% asking him to decline the offer and almost 41% of people advised to drop the Ethreum and accept the Google’s Project. Although, Vitalik decided o delete the tweet, most probably cause he failed to censor the recruiter’s credentials.
Although, it’s highly unlikely for Vitalik to drop the Ethreum and everything it has achieved since it’s inception and work for Google. Also since Vitalik has emerged as the singular face of Ethereum, and his exit would have an evident and immediate effect on its prices too. It’s highly likely that he posted the screenshot as a sarcastic joke on Google.
Vitalik Buterin has been working hard for the past few months on some critical Ethereum updates like the implementation of Casper and Sharding, Proof-of-stake protocol.
Google and Crypto
On the other hand, Google has entirely banned Crypto Adverts on its platform from March 2018.
However, in the same month it was revealed that Google too is working on its own Blockchain Project: a distributed digital ledger that third parties can use to post and verify transactions. Google interest in Vitalik may have stemmed from this project itself. Google has also invested in major blockchain companies like Ripple, LedgerX, and Veem.
