Pražská plynárenská, one of the biggest Czech utilities and energy company has announced that it is planning to crowdfund their energy infrastructure projects by cryptocurrency. It is one of the major suppliers of natural gas in the Czech Republic, serving 420,000 homes and businesses.
The company notes that it is also an electric utility which installs photovoltaics and gas-operated boilers. The company mainly deals in assembling and maintaining telecommunications equipment, serving motor vehicles, and many more businesses endeavors, that includes IT services.
Investment in the field of green and gas projects
The company is planning to establish a new investment platform in the field of green and gas projects in and around Prague. The firm will open an operational payment gateway for Bitcoin as early as next month.
The company is also looking to attract young generation investors by bringing in the facility of investing in cryptos. Moreover, along with the crowdfunding, the company will also accept digital currencies as a form of payment for their services.
The company CEO, Pavel Janeček, also said that it would automatically transfer their bitcoin payments into regular currency to avoid any speculation with cryptocurrency. Pražská plynárenská is reportedly the first in their industry to accept cryptocurrency payments for the services it provides.
Recently, a growing number of Czech businesses have started to accept cryptocurrencies as an alternative and modern payment option. Even though for some it might just be a marketing move, but few are serious about the new payment method and its benefits.
